2011 Vacation & AMO International Convention

I once again used a car show as an excuse to drive almost all the way across the US. The 2011 AMO International Convention was held July 8-19 in beautiful Sedona, AZ. This trip was a lot more relaxing than the last one out west since my wagon decided it would rather stay home and I didn't have to fool with a trailer. The route was also easier (basically out and back on I-40) and about 500 less miles. I also had my dad along which was pretty nice since we don't usually spend much time together. Hopefully I'll have better luck convincing mom to go sometime.

Here's where I went this year:

• Meteor Crater (near Winslow, AZ)
• El Malpais National Monument (south of Gallup, NM)
• Montezuma's Castle (south of Sedona, AZ)
• 2011 AMO International Convention (Sedona, AZ)
• South Rim of the Grand Canyon (north of Flagstaff, AZ)
• Oak Creek Canyon (leaving Sedona, AZ)
• Dead Mountains in California (I'll admit we drove through part of California just `cause)
• Hoover Dam (east of Las Vegas, NV)
• Petrified Forest & Painted Desert (near Holbrook, AZ)
• Cadillac Ranch (just west of Amarillo, TX)
• National Corvette Museum (Bowling Green, KY)
