Dead Mountains

One of the greatest things about taking a road trip is you get to do things just because. These pictures are an example of that. Instead of taking the direct route from Sedona, AZ to Hoover Dam, we went via Needles, CA (which is pretty much just a spec in the desert) and had lunch at the Jack In The Box there. The road from Needles to the dam is just a long stretch of mostly 2 lane blacktop but we did pass by the Dead Mountains which you can see off in the distance below.
