Fourth Report of Work Done - Grayson, Georgia Stop
May 13, 2001
Parts for the Charity AMX are finally beginning to roll in. First we received a
replacement quarter panel from Tom Benvie. Tom had asked some months ago for people to pay
for shipping and he would donate the quarter panel. He received less than $20.00 so the
quarter never got shipped. A couple of weeks ago I spoke with Dave Glenn, who is not on
the list, but is a member of Peach State AMO and also happens to drive a tractor trailer
for a living. I asked Dave if he was going anywhere near Boston and as it turns out he was
headed there the next week. He met Tom and picked up the quarter panel and it is now in
Georgia, free of charge. Big thanks to Tom and Dave for their help.
Next, this past Thursday I received an oil pan from Phil Campbell. Phil had it vated and
cleaned and shipped to me. We will be needing it soon. Thanks Phil.
Finally on Friday I received an entire clutch assembly from:

A big thanks go to Tony for his generous donation as well.
We are currently in desperate need of a flywheel. We had believed that we had one being
donated, but so far have not received it. We can use either the early model or the late
model. The current crankshaft is the later style but, Ron Waters has agreed to supply the
appropriate crankshaft to match the flywheel, if someone has the earlier style. If anyone
has a 360 flywheel that they are willing to donate or to sell, please let me know and we
can make the arrangements. We are at a standstill, putting the engine back together, until
we have a flywheel.
Thanks to everyone who has helped so far. We are still making progress and the car should
leave Georgia in drivable condition.
I have had some other people, offer to transport the car and reimburse us for certain
parts that will have to be bought new (piston rings and battery so far). I will list these
names and what they paid for, when they actually make the donation, so if you have offered
something and haven't seen your name listed, this is why, I don't count anything as
donated, until it is in hand.
